Introduction
This new feature allows you to play Online Tournaments Worldwide. As part of the Online Tournaments newtwork the players in your Simulator/s will be able to compete online with players in other locations. There are different types of Tournaments. Some Tournaments will be created and sponsored by Full Swing Golf. Each location is able to create their own tournaments as well. These can be public, meaning they are open to any player in any location to participate, or Private, meaning only a certain list of approved players can get in the Tournament. Players can compete in "Closest to the Pin" contests, "Longest Drive" contests and golf games with 18 holes, 9 holes or any number of selected holes.
How much does it cost?
Full Swing Golf Online Tournaments software is free. It is included with the standard Simulator Software from Version 3.0 on. Right now, there is no cost for either members or locations running tournaments, but later on, the software itself will remain free but there is likely to be an anual fee for members as well as a small amount for each round of golf played in tournaments where prizes are offered.
Requirements
The minimum requirements in order to run Online Tournaments are these
1. Own a Full Swing Golf Simulator
2. Pentium 4 computer with 1 GB RAM
3. High Resolution Projector (XGA 1024 x 768)
4. Touchscreen
5. LS Golf 3 enabled dongle
6. LS Golf 3 software installed
7. High-speed permanent Internet connection. We strongly suggest that you use wired
connections but it is possible to use wireless connections as well as long as the
connection is stable and strong. The internet connection you can get can be: cable
provided, ADSL, DSL, T1, etc. You do not need an external or fixed IP in order to use
Online Tournaments.
Multiple Simulators Location
Usually locations with multiple simulators will have an intranet or an internal network that connects all their simulators to the internet through one unique connection. If you don't have a technician on site to work on your network you might want to hire a network service to help you set this intranet up.
How to sign up?
In order to participate in an Online Tournament, your location needs to be signed up and your simulator(s) need to be registered. After completing the Sign Up form you will receive an Online Registration Code that will activate your simulator for online play.
Installation
If you have installed LS Golf 3 version 3.0 or more, Online Tournaments software is already installed in your Simulator, you just need to register each Simulator so we know your Location/Simulator(s) are sending the game results. Once you Sign up as an Owner/Operator you will receive the Online Registration Codes you need to activate each machine.
How to make your location part of the Online Tournament Experience?
There is no specific requirement as far as how to set up your location to run online tournaments. Some locations have kiosks that allow users to sign-up and check for results. Some other locations centralize all the online tournaments around the receptionist. There are other experiences providing a public computer or notebook in the style of the location for the members to be able to get online. As far as making the online experience fun by sharing the leaderboards many venues use either a plasma TV or a projector to a wall.
How to Organize Tournaments?
Once you sign-up we'll provide you with a user and password to access our Management Module.
